A LITTLE PROJECT FOR A SNOWY DAY

Hey everyone:)

Well, it's snowing! Oh, yes  it is. Thank you to those who did the Happy Sun Dance for me. But I'm afraid one of you...Suzanne of Old Grey Mare, with her floppin tatas may have caused all of this snow;0 (Check out her blog, she is a doll).

Anyway, you all inspire me on a daily basis. So today, I am hoping to inspire you:)

I recently found these two silver plated  trays, one candle stick and a heavy little bottle. I love to mix different things together to make something really unique. This is what I did with them.

                                                  So, this is what I found.

 I Gorilla glued the bottle and candle stick to the bottom of the trays for one of a kind pedestals. Soooooo simple, right?!

                         Look at some of the ways you can display them.

                      Yes, I have put a few Easter decorations out already. It's early this year you know.

             A millinery hat turned upside down and filled with bright Easter eggs.

                     Vanilla candles in one and vintage photos in the other.

                 Fill them with fruit. If fruit is visible, I'll eat it over cookies;)

                   Of course, I put plants in everything. Why not?

                                        PERFECT for jewelry!!!!

Well? What would you put on them? 

So next time you are out and only see one candle holder or something unique for a base look for a  different tray or pretty plate for your own unique piece. Why not put them together to enjoy them every day?

Now, I am on my way out to shovel the snow. Thanks Suzanne:) lol

Happy Tuesday everyone!

After one of the mildest winters in a while we are now expecting a Noreastern tomorrow and Thursday!!!Nooooooooooooooo 7-10 inches!!!! I'm ready for Spring. Just bought some pretty paisley cushions for the outdoor furniture, seeds, and ordered some really pretty perenials to plant in the garden. AND we just found out that the big flea market is opening early this year because of the 'mild weather.'

So I need all of you to do a Happy Sun Dance just for me;) Yes, I am selfish. I WANT SPRING. And yes, I am stomping my feet and throwing a tantrum, (I learned that from my Grand daughters. They do it really well) lol

How about you? Are you getting the warm Spring weather yet? If you are please leave you address, as I will be coming over to your house to play in your garden;)

HAPPY WEEKEND AND SOME NEW PILLOWS

Hello Everyone:)

What are you doing this weekend? The weather here is supposed to be in the 50's! We really have

 had a great Winter this year in New England.  My friend Suzanne is coming over to go antiqueing with me. I will take
 her to  some of the fun places to shop in town including the Woodbury Flea Market! Can't wait!!!

 We have made some new pillows for the fabulous shop that we sell in, in Litchfield, CT called Serendipity:)

 I mixed it up this time, making different styles. All of them are made with something vintage though.

 Vintage fabrics, linens, trims and a little vintage bling too:)

I hope what ever you do, you enjoy it. Spring is just around the corner. I can't wait to get outside and clean up the yard. I didn't clean my gardens last year and cringe every time I look at them. I have already bought some seeds and have a few ideas to change things up a bit. How about you? Do you clean your gardens in the Fall or are you like me and wait until the Spring? At least the birds had extra seed to eat throughout it. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. I do it for the birds:) lol

I HAVE FROGS

Have I shown you my little collection of flower frogs? I say little because I met a woman who had over 2000 of them!

 When I collect something, I usually collect pieces that will be fit into a particular place. I don't usually buy tons of one item. Well except for fabric and trims;)

 I had this wonderful chippy open cabinet with shelves that was perfect for flower frogs. And a great blue chippy dresser to put it on. They became the home for my frogs:)

 My favorites are the wire frogs, although I do have a few glass ones too.

 My little chippy shelf and my frog angel.
 The glass frogs are great to hold pens on a desk or makeup brushes in the bath.

 These cuties are plastic and MAISONSTGERMAIN.COM has two sets still in their boxes that will be on the site. They are small and adorable.

 I love the different designs they come in.

 This is my favorite one. Look at all of that scrolly wire. Gorgeous!

 This is a birds nest sitting in a small birdbath. See the tiny frog inside?

                                            Love this wire green one too.

                      I like to stack them.

        Stacking them makes them look even more interesting.

      An old watering can shares the space with the frogs.

HONORED

When Cindy Adkins emailed me a couple of weeks ago and told me that she was writing yet another book, and she wanted to include Nicole and me in it, I had tears in my eyes:) Cindy is a best selling author (as well as an artist and designer) and the thought of her including us in one of her books is amazing! We are in very good company too. The other women she chose for her book are some of the most talented women out there!

Cindy has been a Guardian Angel to Nicole and myself. We are so blessed that our paths have crossed through blogging. THE BIG REVEAL!

Hey Everyone:) 
In my last post I showed you my latest project. Well , I am excited to tell you that it is now done!  Although it only took me a day to paint, I had to wait for some label holders to come in. I am so thrilled at how it turned out!!! As some of you have guessed, yes, it is an old  counter with 20 drawers!

 I have wanted something like this for so long, but they are just so darn expensive. Just goes to show you that if you are patient, it will come. lol

Don and I were in an antique shop and I saw it and couldn't stop looking at it. I'd go up a few more spaces and then come right back to it. Crazy right? Finally I couldn't stand myself anymore and had to ask if the seller was firm on his price. Guess what, he wasn't!!!!!!! Score! So I took Don by the hand, lead him to it and said   "go ahead, talk me out of buying this". He is really good at that;) But this time it didn't work and before I knew it, it was being loaded in the truck:) :)

Next stop was Walmart for something Don needed. I headed straight for the paint dept. and picked up some 'Vanilla' paint and some brushes. It is really a pretty shade of white. All the way home I envisioned it in the kitchen in the perfect spot and what I would keep inside of it. I will now even be more organized.( I hope;) I am sooooo happy I could dance:)

 I put all of the drawers in and added label holders.

                                        And here it is!!!!!

 It is in a sunny window and my plants are lovin' it. The kitchen even looks bigger even though this piece replaced a small desk. I love when that happens don't you:)

Some of you may know that I make chandeliers. I hung this one to see if I would like it there. I do, so it will be taken down and repaired.

 It is raining today but this wonderful piece adds a bit of sunshine to the room:)

                            Look at all of this storage!!!

                                    An old wooden box holds some of my favorite plants.

MY NEWEST PROJECT

Hello:)

Don and I went to an Antique shop this weekend.  I found something that I have been looking for for a while:) I'm so excited!!! I smiled all of the way home.  I am working on it today.

                             It does need  a little lovin'.

                                        And I'm just the one to give it;)
