AN EARLY HAPPY WHITE WEDNESDAY TO YOU

Happy White Wednesday Everyone! (I am a little early, I know;)

I am joining Kathleen over at Faded Charm Blog today. Be sure to check her out and find more inspiration.

 We are fortunate to have Chestnut beams throughout the barn. This beam is over the sink. I collected some pretty vintage jars, married them with bottle stoppers and placed them in the kitchen. A very easy inexpensive way to decorate any windowsill. This carved angel was only $5.00! Isn't she great?

 I love white vases and buy them when I see them. I get my flowers every week from 'My favorite flower guys' Joe and his Dad. I enjoy picking from a great selection of flowers  and then deciding on which vases I will use for different places in the house.

 I bought these great vintage patina house shutters. I love the different shades of green and blue. Don was sweet enough to take off the pantry door and replace it with these. I attached some pretty lace at the bottom with Velcro. Velcro is great because I can just take off the lace to wash it when I need to. It also adds some charm to the doors, don't you think? Oh, and there is my 'white' ruffly apron hanging besides it.

 A vintage vase filled with dried flowers along with a vase with a glass ornament placed on top. Some ornaments are just too pretty to put away. I enjoy some of the more unusual ones all year long:)

 I found two of these screen cones at the flea market. I decorated it with vintage lace and millinery flowers. I I put some light green flowers inside to dry. Love the look. I am going to make one for our boutique soon. (Enlarge it for a better look)

 This is just the cutest little drying rack. It is only about 14". Being so small I was able to attach it to a beam in the kitchen to display some of my vintage doilies.

 This is a new line of lamp shades that we will be making for Maisonstgermain.com. They are all different and made of vintage lace and gorgeous millinery flowers. We are STILL working on our new boutique site and hope to finish SOON. It is really a lot of work changing over hosts. I am sure those of you who are on line know exactly what I mean;) But so worth it as it is a passion of ours.

            The light looks so pretty through all of this lace!

                                                       So Romantic.

And last but not least, some white flowers wrapped in linen, tied with jute and place inside of a wire basket to hang on my mantel.

IT'S A PINKY CORALLY DAY TODAY

Hello Everyone:)

Gee, I think New England got more rain in two days than we got did all Summer. And the wind? Crazy, scary wind. Not a big fan of wind;)

 I am still enjoying the new setting on my camera and decided to share with you some of my pink and coral things. Hope you enjoy them.  The above photo is of two things I picked up from the Brimfield show. I love the corset, imagine having to lace it up?A zipper on the side would have been much easier.  I put it on the back of a chair and put it in the master bath. The millinery flowers are made from crepe. They are so gorgeous.

This plant is called a Bougainvillea. I believe that is how it is spelled. It is quite large. I am hoping that when it is done dropping its leaves it will take to living indoors. I had a ficus that did the same thing and it lasted a long time.It has the pretties pink flowers and great varigated leaves. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

 I hung this little pink tutu in the children's guest room. I have it decorated with lots of vintage toys.  Stella and Maci love to sleep over.

This is the guest room that I am still working on. It is the sunniest room in the house. I am thinking of wallpapering one wall with pieces of different wallpapers. I saw a picture of a room done like that in a book and in my calendar and think it looks so unique. This was one of the first $5.00 chairs that I recovered.

 Here is the nursery. I have to have a nursery because I 'need' lots and lots of grandchild:) I LOVE being a Grammie. That is a coral Mombasa net over the crib. Cheerful wallpaper on one wall to wake up to.  The last wallpaper was not a hit because Stella ripped it down very quietly while she was supposed to be napping one afternoon. Actually the little sugar took down the wall paper in our 1/2 bath too. Darn they're quick!

 I found this vintage 1931 calender at the flea market one Sunday. I fell in love with it and tacked it on the front of a cupboard in my bathroom.

Well, there you have it. Pinks and corals for a gray day. I hope you all have an extraordinary weekend, the weather is supposed to be sunny!

WHITE WEDNESDAY

Happy White Wednesday:)

I am a little late posting today and some of my photos do have color, but most of them are white. Carole from Maynard Greenhouse Blog has been giving me tips on my camera and photography so I am using a different setting today and love it. Her blog always features beautiful photos.

I have a few small cabinets with lots of drawers. This one holds a door knob and babys breath.

 This is part of my living room. You may remember the settee that I recovered. It is trimmed in white vintage lace. I was just having fun with the camera. The lanterns above on the beam are part of Don's collection.

 This wire basket holds a favorite plant and some old kitchen untensils.

 I just love old stained glass windows and have at least one in every window. The sun is so pretty when it shines through. This one is a favorite.

THE BEST OKTOBERFEST EVER!

Happy Monday Everyone:)

WOW! What a weekend! This years annual Oktoberfest was the best one yet. The weather was gorgeous, the food was great, the band was fabulous. But the best thing was that over 100 of our friends all gathered together to make it so awesome!!!!You are all the best!!!!We had soooo much fun.

 Friends arriving to have some fun.

 Tents were set up to stay the night. My rooster woke everyone up at 3:00 a.m. lol and was threatened to be deep fried;)

 At night it got cooler and the bonfire was a welcome site.

 Dave and Don won trophies for 'Best Light and Best Dark' homebrew. Thanks to all the home brewers for entering. There were 13 this year.

 There was dancing. That is Kristin and Gary. Those two know how to have fun!

 Bob and the guys have an awesome cover band called 'Twisted Nut'. You guys rock!

 This year was a pirate theme for the kids. Fibi dressed accordingly:)

 And so did Maci. Check out the pink cowgirl boots. lol They also had fun with all of the other adorable kids and the two pinatas.

 Oh look! It's Carole from Maynards Greenhouse Blog. Don't you just love that outfit? She made it!!!!!!!She may just have a new career ahead of her. Also Dee fromFrench Bleu Vintage blog came. I was so thrilled that they were able to make it. It was so much fun to finally meet Dee in person. What a gorgeous lady with a beautiful family. The cutest kids ever:) Wish I had more time to spend with them.

Don and I were able to spend a minute together to have our photo snapped. We had a blast!

OKTOBERFEST

Hello Everyone:)

Is anyone else having trouble with blogger today? It won't let me put photos where I want to. I would like it back the way it was please:)

Anyway, tomorrow is our annual Oktoberfest. Lots and lots of fun. Don and his friends are home brewers and I am always told how great it tastes. I don't drink so I will just have to take their word for it. Once a year we have a yard full of friends and their children. It is something that everyone looks forward too. The phone and emails have been going all day with people stopping by to set up and help out. The kids have games, a pinata and this year there is a pirate theme. I love to watch them use their imaginations and meet yet again making memories. It is amazing how much they grow in one year. The adults have horseshoes, with trophies given to 1st 2nd and 3rd place. The home brews are also judged by everyone. When all of the ballets are counted the winners take home trophies too. It is a weekend party. Some will play 'corn hole' or other games and some will just sit and relax and enjoy the country. Everyone brings their favorite dish so there is lots of fabulous food to eat. At night we will camp out and have a great breakfast ,then everyone goes home and probably goes back to sleep. lol

The campfire is ready for smores with lots of seating to keep warm by.

 The wood is stacked and ready to burn into the morning.

 The horseshoes are ready for  competition.

The 'potty' has arrived.

The ice is chipped.

More seating to just sit and relax.    

Yes, tomorrow this driveway will be welcoming our friends to our home for the last celebration of the summer.

WHITE WEDNESDAY

Happy White Wednesday Everyone:)

Most of my statues in our home wear head pieces, whether it be a crown,a ring of flowers or a vintage hat.  I found this pretty crown from the flea market this week. I was told that it came from a vintage bridal veil. Love the rhinestones.


Some more Little Boo's from the market too. They are just so adorable and they last  a long time.



I am always drying flowers. I have an area of beams in my kitchen that is just filled with them. Roses are one of my favorites to dry. I love how they change color and get all ruffly:)


I also bought a few of these from the market. I want to grow them next year. I am already planning my garden.


This little pretty came from the market and I just loved it. It has a vintage card cut into a heart and tucked between some flowers. So creative.

And what is White Wednesday without one of my baby dolls. Maci loves to try on our vintage hats before we put them on the site:) I wish I looked this good in hats;)
