NEWEST ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY

Hello Everyone,
I would like to introduce you to a new addition to our family. No, it is not another baby Grand Daughter, or another pup, chicken, cat, turtle........As wonderful as that would be this  is  still fabulous ! It is a vintage dress form!!!When I saw her I knew she would be coming home with me, well us.  Don had to carry it through the
market to the truck;)......by himself, where I was unloading lolol. I had to giggle when I saw him carrying it.

Isn't she wonderful?
I bought an antique top and bloomers for her the same day and they fit her perfectly.

I added some gorgeous white vintage flowers and a vintage hat too.

And look!!! She has legs!!!!!!!I don't see these with legs very often and always thought it would be fun to own one.

This top has the name 'Mary' embroidered on the side of it. So sweet.

You can see the writing through her bloomers.  She is a size 8.

And there she stands for now. In the middle of our stairs. (The stairs curve so she fits snuggly)And doesn't take up any room, but.......
Don hasn't seen her there yet so she may still be moved;) We will see.

Hope you are having a wonderful week!
'Till next time......
~Debra
***Update to this post.  Don just came home and saw her and said he hopes he doesn't mistake it for an intruder.....and that he is moving...lolololol

  10. i love her. she is a tall girl, so she could easily pass for middle of the night intruder. lol.
how funny that she resides on the stairs!! i have a little girl mannequin that used to sit on my stairs when i lived in germany. when folks came to visit, they would scream when they saw her. must say she even spooked me sometimes. haha. now she sits on a big window sill. maybe our mannequins will scare the intruders away!!
    thanks for sharing.

  16. Hi Debra,

The dress form is SO wonderful. Talk about a score!

You'd asked if my mom and I make the millinery flowers or if they're vintage... Neither actually! They're contemporary with a vintage look. I'm always amazed at their construction.

  17. Debra,
She's a beauty! Never seen the industrial looking top with legs, usually a cage skirt bottom. How cool! Curious how much their going for these days, I have one I'm thinking of selling. Lisa

  20. I love her ~ what gams! I almost bought one this week as well - but I was too lazy to carry her thru the market to the truck. I'll be kicking myself for a few more days, maybe Miss Bloomers can do it for me:) Great score!
