I love Spring! Always new flowers blooming, the smell of freshness after a sun shower and birds making their homes in most of the bird houses I put out for them. I also like to use different things in the yard for other than they were made for.
For example, don't pass up those old water fountains just because they are not in perfect condition. This fountain sounded so pretty when it was water functional. But after years of being out in our New England weather it wasn't able to be repaired one more time for its original purpose. I still loved it so I made it into a planter. Now I can enjoy it for many more years to come. This year I filled it with purples.
Here is another fountain that no longer works. It used to be in the house. I filled it with annuals and when they fill in will look great on one of our decks.
A cozy spot to relax and enjoy the day.
We met the nicest couple, Harley and Virginia from Florida who make this gorgeous rustic cyprus furniture. We meet them every year when they come back to CT. Harley actually goes into swamps to get the wood for this furniture. There are huge spiders, snakes and gators in those swamps. What a job.
I realized that an arbor, also made by Harley, with a flat top is the perfect place for another birdhouse.
My favorite flower guys were at the flea market on Sunday and I fell in love with these Gerbera Daisies.Aren't they gorgeous?!!!!!!!!!
What did you do this weekend?
'Till next time.....
