SHADES OF BLUE AND HINTS OF SPRING

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day. Sunny, warm. I walked through the garden and was so happy to see that there are tiny plants starting to pop already. I had the front door open all day and spent the day doing things around the barn. One of my favorite things to do.

I can't wait to get outside and start cleaning the gardens and putting the new feeders and bird houses in there place. I bought two new hummingbird feeders. I always put them close to the windows so that we can watch them. They are fascinating.

Since I had to wash slipcovers, I'd decided to dress this sofa with blues.  That is a Waverly slipcover bought from Surefit. I love the ruffles.
We use blues in the shop and it always looks so pretty. So that was my inspiration for the library. Different shades, patterns of ticking and flowers and you know me, lots of layers.
Oh I just LOVE how the sofa came out!!!!  This smiles cozy to me:)

I found this cool little table at an antique sale years ago. Now it hold some of my many books. I really must go through my books and give some of them to a good home. Love the cut out cross on the table.
But, look at this one. What a great title and cover. This is a keeper;)
One of my favorite blue oriental rugs. Even worn these rugs are so lovely to me.

Cutest little blue chippy chair with old ticking pillow cased pillow.
Old wooden box with old velvet tacked to the front. Showcasing old cloudy bottles.
The scented leaves on this dainty plant smell like lemons. It sits on our stone pond. I love listening to the trickling of the water and watching the fish eat.
I love collecting old boxes. I filled this one with another favorite of mine, old tools. They remind me of my childhood.  My Father did lots of carpentry work while my Grandfather was a well known wood carver. Great juxtaposition of pink girly pillows in the background and an old box of tools in the front.
I painted this round frame blue and hung it on our pink door.
I couldn't get another flower inside of this great large basket. I wrapped it with vintage velvet and millinery flowers.
This weeks flowers from my fabulous family. Having fresh flowers in the barn always make it that more special.

'Till next time......
