REGIFTING PUPPY BREATH

Have you ever regifted?  I haven't...until now.  Remember Don had given me a calendar of Basset Hounds, ( I had lost my Barklee a few months before) for Christmas with  a note saying to find another one who touched my heart?  Well, I was so touched and thought that was one of the most sweetest gifts he could give me. I really miss my 'B'.

Then I began to think about it.  We used to have a  long haired Sheperd that Don just loved. His name was Remy. He still mentions him from time to time. Sooooooo I decided to regift my Christmas gift. It was the only logical thing to do. I did some research and actually found a breeder here in CT. We had many, many conversations. Finally she decided to give it a go.

Fergie was just giddy with excitement. She waited and waited with anticipation of her new baby brother to arrive. She has been waiting for about 10 weeks now. The breeder wanted to make sure we were qualified to be the owners of the new pup so she came to our home. She  was happy by what she saw:)

I would like to introduce you to 'Dante'. The newest addition to our menagerie. Just look at those paws! We met his father, he is a giant. Dante is a long haired German Sheperd and will be very large too:)

Aren't they adorable together? He is a little ball of fluff. Fergie has been having so much fun playing with him. Our home will never be the same. And Don is very happy.

HAPPY WHITE WEDNESDAY TO YOU!

Hello Everyone:)

Help me please....I was so excited to share with you these gorgeous cement hanging planters and now I can't get the pictures to come out up and down. I never had this problem before and really am not very savy with electronics. Just ask my husband who swears that anything in the house electronic that is broken was touched by me - crazy talk, I know;) I hope you can enjoy them anyway. Maybe if you rest your nogin on your desk and look up? I bought two of these from the show we did on Sunday.  I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. I love garden pieces and will put these somewhere around the pond in the barn. I think they are to fragile to put outside, which is fine with me.

On another note a while ago I went to 'thevintagenest.com' and bought this beautiful wall switch from Lynn. I put it in my bathroom and it looks beautiful. She has the prettiest things on her site. Thank you Lynn:) This is even prettier right side up:)

I will be over to see your White Wednesday lovelies. And of course check out Kathleen at Faded*Charm the founder of White Wednesday:)

THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY TO SAY HELLO!

We did the Winsted, CT Antique and Collectible Show on Saturday. A very nice show with many great booths of treasures. It was so nice to meet all of you who stopped by our booth. All so friendly with lots of great stories too. We had a lovely lady accross from us who sold fairies in her likeness and a very nice French man next door to us with a great accent who sold great very large maps, photos.... Have you ever noticed how things sound so wonderful with an accent?
What a great school it was too. It had a huge greenhouse (I wished I could have seen inside) and they even had horses and donkeys!!!!!! I love donkeys!!!! The show was put on by the Lions Club and they did a great job. We plan on going back next year for sure.

Just look at this cutie. She was so friendly.

And this handsome gentleman with dreamy eyes.

Look how cute!!! Someone braided her hair!

Some photos of our booth. It always looks better in person because we don't have a backdrop. But you get the idea.

I love this vintage beaded bag.

We sold one pair of these to a woman who was going to hang them up and display vintage photos on them. We have one pair left.

A awesome pair of black shoes with a bit of bling. Would go nice with the black purse.

Hope you had a great weekend! I am starting my taxes today before my husband mentions it 'one more time' and I pull my hair out;) Pray for me.

'Till next time...

I'M BAAAACK!

Hello Everyone!!! Gosh I have missed you all! Thank you for the get well wishes. You are so sweet:) And HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY to you too! I am cooking corned beef as I type this. I told Don that the later he is coming home, the less corned beef there will be;) I have a feeling he will be home early tonight.

This is my White Wednesday photo this week. Yes, only one.  I picked up this very cool vintage pie safe.  It has a door that slides open and closed and holds our yummy baked goods. I have never seen one of these, have you?

Now you all know how much I love silver plated trays, sugar bowls, creamers....I use them for so many things in all of my rooms. They are just so versatile. We just got a 'lot' of them in and boy are they pretty. We have a showing coming up and we will be bringing them (unless you see something you can't live without, just let me know). Here are a few samples.

This one is engraved. This would make a great pencil holder on a desk.

I would put some Spring flowers in this one. Spring starts on Saturday and my garden is starting to show it.

This is a small butter/cheese set. But I would put chocolates in it and put it by my bed or in my guestroom for visitors.

Cotton ball holder

Q-tip, or makeup brush holder.

I love this one with the initial. A single rose is all it needs.
We also have some new vintage linens too for the show that I am washing right now. What we don't sell will be put on Maisonstgermain.com.  Doing the shows is a lot of work for one day but it always looks so pretty when we are done setting up.  This show we will be doing a Spring color theme so it should be pretty and cheerful.

On another note Nicole has started her own blog - see my side bar.  Stop by won't you and show her some love:) I talk about how fabulous you all are and she wanted in on the fun.

I am on my way over to see your blogs now.  Don't forget to visit Kathleen at Faded Charm for more White Wednesday.

'Till next time...

XAVIOR HIGH SCHOOL SHOW

We participated in the Xavior High School Show this weekend. Wasn't the weather gorgeous?

As soon as we drove up about a dozen young men gathered around our truck and carried all of our wares to our spot in the gym. We can't say enough about them. They were polite, respectful, helpful and very strong. They made the show so much easier.  A big shout out to them and a big THANK YOU!  Your parents and school facilty must be extremely proud of you all.
Here are some of the things we brought to sell.

Shirt fronts, wooden shoes, cut glass pitcher, suitcase, antique tie backs...

Brushes, mirrors and pretty boxes...

Ironstone coffee pot with the perfect amount of crazing....

Old wagon wheels and frogs....

Long white gloves, very romantic...

Clock topper, collars...

Child's antique fainting couch and linens...

Shorter gloves, purses.....

We want to thank everyone who stopped by to say hello. We loved meeting you all.

FABULOUS KITCHEN CUPBOARD - IT'S HERE!!!!!

HELLLOOOOOOO!!!
Well, it is here.  My fabulous kitchen cabinet! Don and my son-in-law Manuel picked it up on Saturday. They tore out the old cabinets, replaced the floor and installed it ONE day!!! That alone was a huge surprise;) What a great job they did. THANK YOU !!!!GUYS!!!!You are the BEST!!! The gentleman that we bought it from said it came out of an old Victorian home. And he says he has a warehouse full of old furniture. Hhhhmmmm.

I am keeping the color and am going to replace the glass door knobs with clear glass ones. And that is it. I love it just the way it is.  I have much more storage, more space and it even makes the kitchen look bigger:)

Look at those  chippy, imperfect drawers!!!! So beautiful.

So much room for my plates, bowls etc. Don still doesn't understand why we need all of those plates. Isn't he adorable:)

I even love the draw pulls with the paint on them. They are staying:)

Wire basket and old kitchen piece filled with herbs and spices.
Vintage silver vessels hold my forks and spoons.

Every time I look at it I smile. It is just what this old barn needed.
What is your favorite piece of furniture in your home?

'Till next time...............
