BLUES AND PURPLES IN THE GARDEN

Hello Everyone:)

It has been sooooo hot that I am really surprised that any of my flowers are still living. Most of my potted plants in the front yard are gone. BUT I do want to show you some pretty blues and purples that are blooming right  now.

This is a Passion Vine. It is so gorgeous. It is on my deck and will come inside in the Fall to see if I can keep it growing. Love all the different shades it has.
This is one of the most beautiful Geraniums I have ever seen. It looks like it is made of velvet. This will also come inside in the Fall. Have you ever seen one this color before?

Petunias on the deck. Not many of these, but I am enjoying the ones that are hanging in there;)

OOOOOHHHHH Rose of Sharon.  Love this bush and its' color. This one is sure to make me smile every time I look at it:)
Nicole gave me a Hydrangea a couple of years ago and I was so thrilled to see it blooming. These will be pretty to dry and hang up too. Love the tiny white centers. So dainty each petal is.
Phlox and Hosta flowers. I have different colored Phlox.  While I love the flowers, my garden has lots of green in it when it is not blooming. So I may have to move things around next year or maybe just add flowers in between. If you know me, you know I will probably just add more in between;) Hey, you can never have too many flowers right???
Butterfly bushes are many in the garden too. I love them, Don, not so much. But how could you not love a plant that is surrounded by gorgeous butterflies, I ask? The first one I ever bought had a butterfly on it and that sold me. Maybe he'll come around;)

Well ,thanks for stopping by my garden today. Hope you liked the blues and purples:) What color is blooming in your garden?

MUSHROOMS AND GARDEN GATE

Hello Everyone:)

While walking in the yard today I came across these.

Aren't they beautiful???? They are mushrooms! Don't they look like Roses?
I was so excited to see such wild prettiness that I ran and got my camera to take pictures to show you.Nature never ceases to amaze me.

                                        I think they are amazing.
Different shapes and I LOVE the colors!!!
Then I found these white ones. I'm not sure if any of them are edible but they sure are pretty:)
Last week I picked this child's headboard from the flea market.  I am going to put it in the garden.
The chippy white and green were the perfect colors.
Just look at that scrolly design.     I'm lovin' it.
I would love a headboard like this.

Thanks for stopping by today:) You know I love it when you do.

LAYERING...AND BLOGGERS' BODEGA

Happy Tuesday Everyone:)

Today I want to talk to you about 'layering'.  I am a big layerer (is that a word?). Layering is part of my eclectic decorating. I just love the cozy look it gives our home. I layer lots of things. How about you?

Pillows and vintage blankets are some of my favorite things to layer. Even the books here are layered. Instead of just placing them on the bench, I layered them in a great ironstone bowl topped with a pretty lavender sachet.
LOVE pillows and switching them from room to room changes the look to the area.

Ruffles, vintage linens, millinery flowers, pinned to sofa, always look so pretty. This is a great place to cuddle up and read.
Even my dress forms are layered. So much more interesting and a fun way to display some of my favorite finds too;)

I redid this settee a while back. I am always changing up the pillows on it to give it a fresh look.
See all of the layers I added to this settee.Fabrics, burlap, vintage laces, tulle............LOVE IT!
To me pillows are like a big warm hug. I also like to layer vintage crochet pieces on my sofas, chairs and tables.
Different textures create the look I like.
Cozy * Cozy
Pure loveliness:)
Are you a layerer???? I'd love to know how many other people decorate like this:)

IT WAS HOT HOT HOT AT BRIMFIELD!!!

Hello Everyone:)
Summer is in full swing here in New England and I am enjoying every hot, sticky, sweaty day of it;)
On Tuesday and Wednesday we went to the Brimfield Show and did we have fun!

The girls couldn't believe how hot it was and what the heat did to the gentlemen behind them;)  LOL

Now you know how I like to share with you when I find dealers with fabulous things. This time is no different. Brimfield is full of creative displays and artists.  Two lovely ladies, I think their names were Kris and Carrie,(sorry ) own this great booth. They are from 'WWW.PAINTED PRETTYFURNITURE.BLOGSPOT.COM. Just look at how pretty succulents look in pretty dessert bowls on a silver tray:)
Look at this GORGEOUS little cabinet. Love the scroll work.
Look at this display! Pretty on top of pretty. Love it! I really enjoyed their booth and they were very sweet.
I don't even have to tell you whose booth this was, do I? Well, OK for the two of you who don't know....
it is Theresa and her husband's from 'Time Worn Interiors'. No matter what awesome things they have to sell, their style is always recognized. They have such a great eye for beautiful things. Brought home a few treasures from here too;)
And this is my friend Patrice's booth from  http://www.asentimentaljourney.net                       .
Look at that fabulous tin lunch pail!!!!! Enlarge these photos for some eye candy.

A cart full of fabric loveliness.
Cheerful red  shows off all of her goodies. I bought a great white McCoy planter from Patrice. I collect them and she had a great one. She is so funny, she was closing up to go shopping. lol My kind of lady:)

I have shown  you photos from this display  before. These guys really know how to draw you in with their beautiful pieces. They are 'Sandstone Gardens' 2826 Douglas Fir Road, Joplin, MO 64804  phone: 417-206-6305. CLICK TO ENLARGE.
I have bought from them before. I love EVERYTHING they sell!!!!!
I wish I had taken a business card from this awesome lady. She always has a beautiful display of potted flowers, herbs and veggies and some great furniture too. She had so many 'sold' stickers on her things and I am not surprised as she really does a wonderful job.
Dawn and Jeremy had such a beautiful setup. So tastefully done and very soothing. They are: 'reclaimedcharm@gmail.com'.
Look at that white chair!!!!!And that gray cabinet!!!!
This is also from their booth. I just love these old tables. And can I tell you, I have never seen so many people walking around with suitcases. Where are they all going ?????LOL

MY GIRLS!!!!
We had so much fun!  The girls were excellent and we are looking forward to the September show already:)

Thanks for stopping by......

WHITE WEDNESDAY

Hello Everyone:)

Hope you all had a great weekend.  I am joining Kathleen of Faded Charm today for  WHITE WEDNESDAY!!!

Fergie had a busy weekend. She says "hello";)
There is a couple that sell their wares at a flea market in New York that I go to a few times a year. They are just the cutest and very talent:) Jody and Pat have the best Whites.  They craft many of their things like the bench above. LOVE it!!!! I bought it from them a while back. Then, I found this fabulous sack at the market that is from a town about 20 minutes from here. I made a pillow out of it and now it sits happily on the bench.
White Daisies are now starting to bloom in the garden. I love walking through it every morning because there is always something new blooming.  There are times that I find plants that I don't even remember planting. Do you do that too?

It was such a beautiful day today. I was actually woken up by the birds chirping. They were soooo happy. Now that is the best alarm clock there is, don't you think?

I planted white petunias in my urns this year. Love them with the silver.
I also bought this grain scoop from Jody and Pat.  It has such great graphics. I filled it with small antique bottles.
I may be the only one who likes to buy these little 'potty bowls' but I just think they are great to decorate with. I filled this one with some of my favorite iron stone. Others hold dried flowers, twine, bottles.........Some of them are so pretty too. I have one that has blue flowers along the sides. That was a great find.

My huge white ironstone  spittoon, yes spittoon, (see I use everything) filled with THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ROSES I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! from my flower guys - Joe's Flowers. They always have the best fresh flowers and great produce. I wish you can see these roses in person. They are gorgeous:)
I leave you with this image. This is a sight I see daily. Yes, you can now feel my pain, can't you;) lol

Have a beautiful day:)

'Till next time...........
