HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

Happy Memorial Day everyone! While we are celebrating this holiday and our freedoms in this great country of  ours, I just wanted to thank our Military men and woman and their families. Those who have fallen and those who are serving today. If it wasn't for them we may  be a totally different country. I am very grateful because I love the United States!!!!! So THANK YOU!!! and LET THE SUMMER BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHITE WEDNESDAY AND A YUMMY RECIPE

Happy White Wednesday!

We enjoyed a gorgeous hot day here today. Hope you are enjoying yours as well. Here are my Whites for this week. Join Kathleen over at Faded * Charm for some lovely whites by wonderful talented bloggers.

We have two large urns that we planted these wonderful white flowers in.
See the large Rosary Beads on St. Francis?  They were originally  from a Nun or a Priest. Since I went to a Catholic School they brought back memories and I knew they would look good on this statue.

I just love these fluffy, ruffly slips.

White Geranium

Ooh la la

I bought this unique piece at a tag sale of a woman who had collected lots of antiques. I used it for my vintage photos but I wonder what it may have been originally used for. Maybe collars or shirt fronts?

Now for my Yummy Mexican Dip. I don't have a photo but you can't go wrong. It is very easy and oh so delicious.

 *2 packages Philly cream cheese
*2 cans of chilli with beans
*1 jar of hot salsa
*1 large package of shreaded cheese. I use the mexican blend.
Mix together and bake for about an hour or until it bubbles @ 350.

Use *Frito dippers to dip and enjoy!

I am making it for Memorial Day. It is always a big hit. If you try it, let me know if you liked it. I'll bet you do:)

'Till next time,

TICK TOCK

Hello Everyone,
I am late  posting my White Wednesday. That is because I just put it together today. I had 3 shelves hanging on this wall with whites and last night we heard a crash and down came one of the shelves. So what to do? Redecorate it, as if I really need an excuse;) Of course more than one wall had to be decorated because I had to put the things that were on the shelves somewhere. That is how I decorate but I have a feeling some of you may too. One thing leads to another but it is fun!

When I saw this cubby I knew it would be perfect for my clocks. Someone had cut it to this size and I love it:0
Then it just looked too lonely on that wall all by itself so I hung my architectural pieces on each side of it.
Some of my collection is so ornate. And clocks are a fun item to collect. The doubles that I found are going on our website for others to collect too.

Have a great evening! And don't forget to check out Faded * Charm and Kathleen to see more white inspirations.
'Till next time....

FUN WITH FLOWERS!

I love Spring! Always new flowers blooming, the smell of freshness after a sun shower and birds making their homes in most of the bird houses I put out for them. I also like to use different things in the yard for other than they were made for.
For example, don't pass up those old water fountains just because they are not in perfect condition. This fountain sounded so pretty when it was water functional. But after years of being out in our New England weather it wasn't able to be repaired one more time for its original purpose. I still loved it so I made it into a planter. Now I can enjoy it for many more years to come. This year I filled it with purples.

Here is another fountain that no longer works. It used to be in the house. I filled it with annuals and when they fill in will look great on one of our decks.

And what about those bird baths?  I filled one with thyme, wooly thyme and chicks and hens. I love how it turned out.

A cozy spot to relax and enjoy the day.

We met the nicest couple, Harley and Virginia from Florida who make this gorgeous rustic cyprus furniture. We meet them every year when they come back to CT. Harley actually goes into swamps to get the wood for this furniture. There are huge spiders, snakes and gators in those swamps. What a job.
I realized that an arbor, also made by Harley, with a flat top is the perfect place for another birdhouse.
My favorite flower guys were at the flea market on Sunday and I fell in love with these Gerbera Daisies.
Aren't they gorgeous?!!!!!!!!!

What did you do this weekend?

'Till next time.....

NEWEST ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY

Hello Everyone,
I would like to introduce you to a new addition to our family. No, it is not another baby Grand Daughter, or another pup, chicken, cat, turtle........As wonderful as that would be this  is  still fabulous ! It is a vintage dress form!!!When I saw her I knew she would be coming home with me, well us.  Don had to carry it through the
market to the truck;)......by himself, where I was unloading lolol. I had to giggle when I saw him carrying it.

Isn't she wonderful?
I bought an antique top and bloomers for her the same day and they fit her perfectly.

I added some gorgeous white vintage flowers and a vintage hat too.

And look!!! She has legs!!!!!!!I don't see these with legs very often and always thought it would be fun to own one.

This top has the name 'Mary' embroidered on the side of it. So sweet.

You can see the writing through her bloomers.  She is a size 8.

And there she stands for now. In the middle of our stairs. (The stairs curve so she fits snuggly)And doesn't take up any room, but.......
Don hasn't seen her there yet so she may still be moved;) We will see.

Hope you are having a wonderful week!
'Till next time......

***Update to this post.  Don just came home and saw her and said he hopes he doesn't mistake it for an intruder.....and that he is moving...lolololol

Hello Everyone!
We just got back from the Brimfield Antique Show and did we have fun! I wanted to share with you some of the whites I bought for White Wednesday before I hit the shower and my bed.  We walked for miles but when we are having so much fun it doesn't matter.  That is until we get home and sit. (I need a foot massage.)
Gorgeous vintage flowers.

A cement crown. I just love this!

A bowl full of crown hangers, old alarm clocks and wire hearts.

And just look at that white vintage pillow:)

Always buying linens.

We hope you enjoyed our white for this week;)

SOCCER & SALES

Happy Monday Everyone!  How was your weekend? Mine was busy as usual.
We watched our Super Star Stella play soccer. It is her first year and she really enjoys it.
Of course we took Fergie. She just loves the game.

And shared some popcycles with Fibi Pearl. Notice the vintage dress:)

Nicole and I went to a rummage sale too.  And look at what I brought home. Now some of you may think it is just junk but I see potential here so stay tuned for before and after photos. Oh and by the way it was free!!! My favorite price.

The flea market was so much fun. There is a dealer there who sells fresh flowers.....It is a father and son team and they are the sweetest people.
Their flowers are always gorgeous and their prices are awesome. Bouquets $5.00 each, buy 4 get the 5th free. And 2 dozens beautiful roses for $10.00. I have fresh flowers every week. They make the whole house smile.
Look at this pretty painted mirror. I love the color don't you?

I bought this vintage carrier for Nicole.

The inside is so pretty. I wonder what she will put inside of it? Hmmmm
What did you do this weekend?

"Till next time.....
